New year and a New Mattress

The New Year quite often brings us to treating ourselves and maybe our spouse to a new mattress. Maybe it’s a Christmas present to ourselves, or just time to treat ourselves or maybe finally it’s time to admit this old bed just isn’t what it used to be.

Especially at this time of year we’re bombarded with ads everywhere. Christmas sale, Boxing Day sale, boxing week sale and on and on it goes. These ads tell you that you must act now or lose out!

A mattress should be an investment in both time and money. Here’s what I mean. We spend roughly a 3rd of our lives on our mattresses. Hopefully around 8 hours a day 7 days a week, yet the industry tells us to buy now! “Here’s a great ad I should buy based on that”. You’ve seen ads all year long they will send you your new mattress in a box right to your door. Easy right?

My opinion is that anything worthwhile is worth some effort. Wouldn’t you think that you should at least lie down and try it first?

Here’s my suggestion. Go to and read my blogs. I’ve written extensively on what I believe is wrong with the industry. Go out and look around just don’t be pushed into a hasty decision buy a commission sales person that may or may not have your best interests at heart. Don’t worry if they run out of today’s deals they’ll have another tomorrow.

At John’s we don’t do sales or commissions. We believe in educating you about the industry and its pitfalls. Our specialty is our natural latex mattresses that are made just for the person or couple going onto it. Even when one side of the mattress is different from the other, which is common for most couples.

All our staff are very well trained in how to help fill your needs. If you’d like to speak to me personally I’m happy to do that. Just call a few days in advance we can arrange a time and day that works.
